The Motec charity gala at Evergreen football club training ground in Abbotts Langley turned out to be good fun for all participating players and spectators. Six teams, six-a-side participated and included groups from the West Herts NHS doctors (two teams), physiotherapy (two teams), theatre staff, and a Ghanaian team. The competition took place on the 12th of May from 10 am till 3.30pm. The competition was friendly at the start and fierce towards the end with Team Ghana winning the final game 1:0. Captain Marvel of Ghana (Aaron) scored a spectacular winning goal in the final game that took every participant and spectator's breadth away. Winners medals were presented by Davinia Leggett, the organiser of the competition. Overall, Motec was the winner. The competition raised about £250 which has since been paid into the Motec Account. Motec wishes to express its gratitude to every participant, spectator, and the local shops that donated food items and, Evergreen Football Club for the free use of the astro-turf. Miss Davinia Legget has been instrumental in the organisation of the games and Motec is indebted to her. The event has been so popular that Motec is looking at regularising the competition.
