Motec Life-UK has a number of projects that are intended to
help improve hospital based care of underprivileged
patients in the target hospitals. Motec has educational
and training programmes in addition to the direct health
care activities in order to help sustain the development
of individuals and departments in our target hospitals.
Our organisation is co-operating with local health
authorities to ensure that as many as practicable health
care workers within a reasonable distance from our
target hospitals join us in our educational drive. Motec
has a strategy of working with the local health workers,
approaching the drive for progress in a
multi-disciplinary fashion involving as many
facets/departments of the hospital, based on bottom up
development.
To
sustain the programme, volunteers have to deliver the
intended services at the target hospitals. This would
involve provision of air tickets, medical materials
including equipment, implant, public address system to
run audio-visual educational programmes and paying for
freight of donated and purchased medical materials.
These
noble objectives unfortunately need funding. Motec
Life-UK currently runs on a budget that is supported by
the membership through fund raising activities
subscriptions, and sacrifices by its members who take
their annual leave for the work voluntarily, travel
around to meetings and collect donated medical materials
at their own expense. Some of the memberships pay for
their own air tickets. We have enjoyed some support from
generous British Companies with donation of medical
materials, some free and others discounted.
The sustainability of our
projects is on the brink of failure and only the courage
of the members has kept the organisation going. All the
necessary steps for charity status have been taken. A
responsible Trustee Executive runs the organisation and
supporting core non-trustees and membership. Personnel
experienced with accounting look after our
organisation’s account. We are not only accountable to
our membership, but also to the International
Organisations that we are affiliated with i.e. Tropical
Health Educational Trust based in London, and generally
the World Health Organisation.
Motec
would like to appeal to members of the public,
philanthropists, companies, business executives,
International Organisations, Churches, Charitable Clubs,
International Airlines, Governments and Non-Governmental
Institutions, the Private Sector to support her with
donations of money, equipment, sponsorship of projects
and individuals (please see website section on
projects).

Using Gift Aid means that for every pound you
give, we get an extra 28 pence from the Inland
Revenue, helping your donation go further.
This means that £100 can be turned into £128,
just so long as donations are made through Gift
Aid. Imagine what a difference that could make,
and it doesn’t cost you a thing. |
